Lindsay is a seasoned medical devices professional having started his career as a clinical engineering student at Marcus Medical in 1976. Educated at SACS, Lindsay studied light current electronic engineering at CPUT, General Management at Damelin Business School and the University of Stellenbosch. Lindsay worked as the General Manager of the IVAC Infusion Therapy Division for 23 years at Marcus Medical before heading up the direct affiliate operation for Carefusion SA until 2007 when he was headhunted to take up the role of General Manager at Smith and Nephew South Africa.
In 2012 when he was lured back to his engineering roots and entered the field of local manufacture by launching VIVA Medical. They specialise in the local manufacture of critical care Infusion Administration Sets for use in volumetric and syringe pumps. This is a local substitution initiative supported by Wesgro and the IPAP program of The Dti.
